The Centro de Investigación en Matemática y Metamatemática (CIMM) is a unit specialized in advanced research in mathematics education. The Center is attached to the Vice-rectory for Research at the Universidad de Costa Rica.

CIMM was founded in 1997 in order to create a high-level research unit to dedicate itself to areas of mathematics, both theoretical and its applications. 

The Center has a high-level body of researchers, graduates of the best universities in the world, which stands out for its publications in prestigious international magazines.
